There are four bodies of water located in Pasadena that serve as tributaries to the Chesapeake Bay. Along the shores of these tributaries are several fine waterfront communities offering waterfront homes and water oriented privileges such as marinas, boat launching facilities, and beautiful beaches. These major tributaries from the most northern point of Pasadena to the southern borders of Severna Park are Stoney Creek, Rock Creek, Bodkin Creek, and the Magothy River.
Bodkin Creek is a wonderfully secluded body of water conveniently located halfway between Annapolis and Baltimore. The deep channel serves boaters well as they pass through the basin and into the lovely Main, Back & Wharf creeks. Forest Glen
A Pasadena waterfront community on Main Creek of the Bodkin
Forest Glen is a wonderful community comprised of about 114 homes, 79 of which are waterfront. The majority of the waterfront homes were built in the 1940's and 50's and used as summer cottages. Today most of the homes are year round residences, while approximately 14.9% of them remain 2nd homes or investment properties. Some of the cottages have kept their quaint, original characteristics, while many others have been transformed into larger, updated homes to accomodate year round living.
Public schools for this neighborhood are Bodkin Elementary, a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon school, Chesapeake Bay Middle School and Chesapeake High School. Specific school details can be obtained at the Maryland Department of Education's website www.MDReportCard.org
The average sale price of non-waterfront homes sold since January 1, 2006 in Forest Glen is $365,350, although only two homes sold in that time period. Most homes in Ventnor are well improved or have been rebuilt, making it one of the most desirable waterfront communities in Pasadena.
